AUXILIARY SERVICE AREAS:

 

The following services are typically offered:  Monday - Friday 9am – 1pm or 1pm – 5pm (see below for evenings and weekends)

Ambassador – Assist visitors with way finding and escort to destinations through-out the hospital

 

Assistant to the Chaplain - Assist in ICU/CCU waiting area, acting as a liaison between family members and the staff.  Visit with provide comfort to families.  A personal interview with the Chaplain is required.

 

Auxiliary Office Receptionist (AOR) - Answer the phone, greet and assist members and visitors in any way possible.

 

Baby Pictures – Assist photo reps by preparing babies for photos and distribute order forms and brochures to new mothers.

 

C.H.I.P. (Compassionate Help & Issue Prevention) - Serve as a customer service representative to contact new inpatients to inform them of our Hotline and other support services.

 

Computer Support – Assist with Gift Shop inventory management systems & other computer related tasks.

 

Escort - Escort patients and their belongings to and from their rooms at admission and discharge.

 

Flower Delivery - Deliver flower arrangements to the patient’s room.

 

Gift Shop - Stock, display, sell, and deliver a wide assortment of gift and necessity items.

 

Guest Services – Room to room delivery of various items, such as ice, water, books magazines, etc. 

Health Resource Center - Help with clerical work, answer phones and shelve medical books.  Deliver videos to patients.

 

ICU - Serve as receptionist and support families of  Critical Care patients.

 

Information Desk - Greet visitors, direct traffic and give information as to location of patients, services, etc.

 

Network of Hope/Breast Cancer – Support for breast cancer patients before, during and after surgery/treatment.  (Open only to breast cancer survivors who have received diagnosis and treatment at Northside Hospital.)

 

Parents Partnered for Preemies – Support for parents who have infants in the Special Care Nursery at Northside Hospital.  (Open only to parents of former Northside Hospital Special Care Nursery infants).

 

Puppeteers - Manipulate puppets for one of two professionally written, produced, and taped puppet shows performed for elementary school children in four county area.

 

Rock-A-Bye – Provide emotional support and comfort to Special Care Nursery infants and families and assist nursing staff as needed. 

(Limited Openings)

 

Surgical Services – Assist staff with patient transport in Recovery areas; escort families to extended recovery area.

 

Surgical Family Center - Provide assistance and information to patients and visitors in the surgery area and the surgical waiting room. Assist patients coming into the hospital for pre-testing.

 

Vistas - Assist with activities at out-patient mental health facility.

Evenings: 5 pm – 9 pm (Monday – Friday)
Weekends: 9 am – 1 pm , 1 pm – 5 pm
